In Japan, the trends are nothing but different! Japan is known mostly for their Harajuku, Kawaii, and street style. Their Harajuku and Kawaii styles are best known for their excessive use of pink and relevance to cartoon/ anime characters. They use bright shades of pink and neon colors. With Harajuku and Kawaii styles, people tend to look at it as playing "dress up". They use wigs, long socks, thick-soled shoes, big/ puffy skirts or dresses, and sometimes lots of layers. Japan is known for these particular styles because they are practiced all across the world and people who don't dress like it seem to think it is weird but different is good! Japanese street wear is also very interesting; personally one of my favorite styles. They wear a lot of t-shirts and hoodies usually made by high end designers or low and upcoming designers. Japanese style has altered over such a short time and it must be interesting to live in one country with all of these styles clashing! Definitely an oppurtunity to learn something new about someone.
